5.5 dollars for a coffee. Not that one. This monster;
Iberia’s flagship A346
Half liter, soy, extra shot.

I love soy milk in lattes. So much better than beef milk.

Have you compared soy hot chocolate to the moo juice version? It’s also excellent.

I always go w/ a 5 shot Americano. Zoooooooooooot!

I think it masks the coffee a bit less; which in starbucks is a downside even with fancy “colombia” coffee beans.
But overall, better

Ive done americano with a shot of espresso but not anything more extreme... apart from cold brew

I’m not surprised , I paid $ 3.61 for a cold brew 12 oz in San Jose, CA. Frapichino’s usually go for >$5.00.

No, I have not. I believe it though . I’ve had chocolate and vanilla soy milks.

A standard “Venti” Americano is 4 shots and hot water, so it’s not that crazy.

It seems they spelled the names correctly, though. That’s progress.

Try a flavored soy milk that’ll help that S tarbucks battery acid taste.

Airports, man. They suck

Haha yes I have a pretty high tolerance for “substances” up or down. Except for A lcohol, I’m pretty much a 2-4 IPA’s and I’m hammered.

I particularly like the Abuelita hot chocolate tabs in soy or almond milk.

It’s flavored eith m vainilla and like a billion ounces of sugar

Abuelita is good, but Chaparro is another thing

Not so third world after all, eh?

That’s a shame. My favorite S tarbucks drink is nitro cold brew black.

I tried it once; not my thing. Regular cold brew without syrup does me pretty good tho

That sounds heavenly.

Cold brew has become my favorite way to drink coffee.

I assume Chaparro is the thick and strong stuff. I’ve had that, and it’s great. I can’t shouldn’t have more than a small cup at once though.

Chaparro is harder to find, not that Abuelita isn’t good enough... its just too sweet for me

I almost exclusively drink cold brew. In general, I prefer cold beverages to hot but I got into coffee through cold brew. I like espresso, and would have it during special occasions, but I tried cold brew for the first time and was damn near hooked. My uncle, who is pretty big into coffee, brewed me some back in like 2011 I think. I’m very happy it is main stream now and I can find it everywhere.

I’m no IPA coz I hate beer

I built my own rig to make cold brew but now you can buy jugs at Walmart to make it.

That’s fair. I try to stay away from wine and the hard stuff because of how easily I get drunk however it usually goes the opposite way after that 4th IPA or at least it used to, pre-kiddo Tripper

Cheapo Whisky is amazing to get hammered (for me at least)

Yea I’m a whisky guy for sure. Funny how many people prefer Vodka. All I have to do is smell it and my salivary glands go crazy like I’m getting ready to boot, because I am haha.

I made a contraption to filter it post french press but now I do the same thing. $8 at trader joe’s for concentrate. I was probably paying more for beans brewing myself.
![]() 07/10/2019 at 14:57 |

What was your bean/water ratio?
![]() 07/10/2019 at 15:06 |
|
I think it was like one or two cups per standard sized french press. It’s been over a year since I made it myself and another year since I actually calculated all the ratios. It was close enough to just fill the press with beans to the first line, then fill with water to about an inch from the top. Sit in the fridge for 18 hours, press, then filter.
